Pelvic Fractures

Pelvis fracture is the breakage in the sturdy ring of bones located at the base of the spine. Pelvis fracture is most commonly associated with extensive bleeding due to its proximity to major blood vessels. It generally requires emergency treatment.

Characteristics of Pelvis Fracture:

Cause: Traumatic, high-energy event, such as a car or motorcycle collision OR crush accident OR fall from a significant height.

Symptoms: Pain, swelling, deformity, bruising and tenderness of the joint along with aggravation of pain on movement of hip or on an attempt to walk.
