An ACL reconstruction surgery is usually performed after 10 to 15 Days following the injury. The surgery involves the replacement of the damaged ligament with a graft. The surgery followed by rehabilitation therapy helps in restoring the full functionality of the ligaments.
ACL injuries can be detected during a physical examination and confirmed with an MRI . The immediate treatment for it includes a protocol consisting of rest, ice, compression and elevation (RICE).
